Workout of the Day

Level: All levels

Goal: Increase strength & conditioning and improve overall performance

The Workout of the Day (WOD) is designed to incorporate varied metabolic conditioning circuits to produce results. Every workout is scalable to any level of experience to ensure the proper dose of intensity is applied. Workouts are different every day and modified to help each athlete achieve his or her goals.

 

Mobility

Level: All levels

Goal: Improve mobility

Mobility is strength in the range of motion of the muscle. Mobility exercises take the muscles, tendons, and the joint through their entire range of motion.

 

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Level: All levels

Goal: Learn grappling and self-defense the Gracie way

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is widely regarded as the single most effective martial art. Ralph Gracie has been a champion fighter for over 20 years and has been called one of the best ground fighter in the world. He has fought in major events including extreme Fighting and Pride Bushido. His competition team is one of the most successful in the United States. Students will learn both self defense, MMA, and sport jiu-jitsu techniques.

 

Muay Thai Kickboxing

Level: All levels

Goal: Learn striking and self-defense through the Art of Eight Limbs

Sityodtong Muay Thai Gym, founded in 1959, is the top Muay Thai team in the world, producing 60 world champions. Brought to the United States by Kru Mark Dellagrotte, Sityodtong has continued it legacy of excellence sending fighters to all the top shows, including Glory and UFC. Chicago MMA is an official affiliate of Sityodtong Muay Thai. Classes are designed to introduce students to striking for Mixed Martial Arts. Students will build a strong foundation by learning the basic strikes and combinations using all eight limbs: hands, legs, elbows, and knees.


Women’s Martial Arts

Level: All levels

Goal: Learn martial arts and self-defense

Muay Thai is often described as the most effective striking art in the world. Through the use of all eight limbs--fists, legs, elbows, and knees--Muay Thai teaches students not only world class self-defense techniques but also provides an unparalleled full-body workout that will build strength, improve endurance and conditioning. This women-only class will transform your body and strengthen your mind. Many students in the program are new to the sport, so it's designed to support beginners as well as advanced students. Expect to leave sweaty and with new skills to practice at home.

Athletic performance depends upon proper nutrition. All areas of fitness build upon it. Without quality foods, eaten in appropriate quantities, no athlete can achieve his or her full potential.

 

MASSAGE THERAPY

Goal: Repair your muscles post-workout and improve performance

Massage is a popular treatment choice of athletes, coaches, and sports physical therapists. Massage therapy acts to improve performance, reduce pain, prevent injury, and shorten recovery time. Massage is used to speed recovery following heavy single workouts, competitions, or during high-intensity cycles. Massage also plays a part in the prevention of injury, especially those that might arise due to overuse and overload.
